bamboo and clowns

I understand bamboo is the natural hiding place for clowns in their native environment. I got some recently, soaked it to make sure nothing weird was in it, then introduced it to the tank. The clowns took to it immediately while no-one else in the tank has shown any interest. Question: what will it do to the tank chemistry? Seems like it might increase acids, but then it's not really like other woods. Thoughts?

Thanks!
