Introducing a loach

I will be upgrading to a 20 gallon tank in 2 days. I will be getting a weather loach, and I need to know if they need a cave to hide in. Do they eat flake food or need special food? Also I would like to add another danio, and a mickey fish. I need to know they best way to add them, all together or wait awhile in between. Also I have a neon, which was once part of a school, but his school died. When he was with the school they rarely came to eat, only when the flakes fell close to them. Now that he's alone he eats with the other fish, and swims out with the others. I'm not sure if i should get him another school, he seems to be much happier swimming with my scissor tail.
