how much food?

i see all these messages with warnings about over feeding my fish incase i overload the filter. I have 3 weather loaches. one is around 6 inches, one about 5 and the third is about 4. Every time i feed them the biggie guzzles itself, while the others wait for the food to sink.

so how much and how often should i be feeding my fish?
