Hiding when first introduced to a tank is fairly common loach behaviour. In fact loaches need hiding places to run to no matter how long you have had them. They may also not eat for a week or more while they settle in. Don't panic, just make sure they can't get jammed anywhere and keep an eye on the food situation. Too much uneaten food can cause water pollution problems. Once they settle in you'll love them.
