High Fin Loach?

Hello all, I was just in the LFS in Seattle's China town, (We call it the International District...) and he had a fish he called a "High Fin Loach". It had mottled black stripes, a silver body, and well, a high dorsal fin. The thing that came to mind when I looked at it were the Wharks from Riven. He said it grew to be 12" and was asking $30 for it. It is currently 2". The shape of it's body and mouth &etc were all very loachlike, but that fin... Have any of you heard of this Loach? I looked all through the Loach Species Index,a nd found nothing like it.
