feeding mistake

Last night I handed back midterm exams and, needless to say, everyone wanted to talk to me about their exams after class. So, I got home much later than normal. Well, in my absence, Danio Woman fed the fish. In addition to some flake, she dropped 4 hikari wafers into the tank for the Clowns.

When I got home, the Loaches had HUGE bellies. It was surreal. I am not going to feed them today (they didn't eat on Wednesday either because it is fast day). Can this type of overfeeding, with resulting belly hyperexpansion, cause any lasting problems to these little guys?
