Hi all! I have recently seen a few baby Botia Helodes at a LFS. While I was looking at them, I noticed some small spots on their body. Could these fish possibly be a sub species of the Botia Helodes?

B. Striata: About 2-3 weeks ago I bought 3 larger B. Striata to accompany my 3 original. I have noticed that their gill falps have a small opening where the gill flap ends. I have noticed this in almost all my Botia Striata, and a few photographs as well. As anyone else noticed this in their fish?

B. Nigrolineata: There are numerous complexes of fish groups that seperate species are placed into. For example: B. Morleti (Skunk Loach) is in the Modesta
