I agree with the recommendations about buddies if you have the space. Expect the little fellow to reach 3-4 inches fairly quickly (a few months) in good water conditions and then grow very slowly from there.

Bloodworms living in your gravel? Chantra also has bloodworms living in the gravel of one of her tanks, and her modesta happily eats them.
