Blue Botias, Clowns, and Rainbowfish????

I've got a request in for a new 55g for my birthday! I presently have a 55g with rainbows and serpaes. What I want is a tank with a big (say...20 or so) school of serpaes with about 5 clown loaches. I've also often admired the blue botias, and they are available here! (surprise!) Are they compatible with clowns? Or could I put a few in another 55g with the rainbowfish? (please bear in mind that the rainbows need a little salt...so I've been told...and would have first place in that tank). What do you think??? If the blues can stand a small amount of salt, I would love to have them in the tank with the rainbows! Should be gorgeous!!! But, I'm willing to forego them altogether if they can't handle that environment.....Need some input here!
