Help I've bought a delinquent!

I fell in love with a weather loach in the shop and bought him. He keeps trashing the tank, uprooting plants and burying himself in the gravel so only his head pokes out. Any ideas on how I can keep him amused so that I don't find a tank which looks like its been turned over by burglars every mornng?
