Please do enlighten us on this subject!!!! I would like to think that our tanks are very healthy but there are always things wrong that we cannot always see. we actually haven't thought about captive diseases and are not ready to do any releasing as of this moment. With your bit of info I will not do any of the sort until we get all the facts. It is a possibility that we will donate the eel to a public aquarium. Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. An email was actually sent to us on this subject but i did respond incorrectly (hopefully the sender will realize my mistake). More research is in store for us i guess. I will keep you posted on this subject. My only concern is for the rest of my fish in the tank and the eel who will out grow the tank and suffer and/or eat all of the inhabitants. No casualties as of yet but we are looking for a sensible solution rather quickly.
