donating to aquarium better idea

releasing a captive fish can have tragic consequences (independent of the potential for disease introduction). these types of releases disrupt the ecological balance of the system you release to. you mentioned the fact that you were afraid of him killing fish, but he could end up doing that in a number of ways not just predation (e.g. competition).

at any rate, just thought I would post to let you know that donation to the aquarium is the best thing to do.
