Penguin or Aquaclear?

I'm getting a backup filter for my 55 gallon tank since my fluval has been unpredictable lately since the impeller shaft was broken. I'm getting this filter along with a replacement part for the fluval in case it happens again. I was looking at the power filters and it seems to me that they have about the same price for about the same gallons per hour. I'm partial to marineland myself, but was wondering about the experiences of others.
