too many fish?

Ok, tell me if this is to many fish for a ten gallon tank, three zebra danios. 1 pleco, 1 gourami and a saimese algea eater. Right now my tank has all the fish exept for the pleco and the ten gallon tank has been running over 1 month now. I have a major brown algea problem and I wanted to get a pleco to eat it up. Would this be alright to do? oh, one more question, what is the basic care for a pleco? thanks
