Getting back into the hobby- heater question

First thing I have to say- is everyone here is just plain weird- in a good way. I am just getting back into the hobby. I worked in a good Tropical fish store for 4 years during high school and I was one of the experts in my home town (I read most every book I could). That was 8 years ago. I love loaches- especially clowns and yo-yo's. (I've kept oscars, discus, african cichlids, etc.) I will be getting some soon. Just got my 90 gallon tank and I am getting ready to set it up. I have had 60 gallon tanks in the past. I always used a single 300W heater which is good for that size. (I liked Ebo-Jaeger or Visitherm 8 yrs ago). Will a 300W handle a 90 gallon- or do I need 2 heaters (say 200W)? I know we would do 2-300W in our 150Gal tanks. I would rather
