HELP! My first encounter with ICK

I have a 20 gallon tank with 2 bala sharks, 2 silver dollars, 2 clown loaches and 1 algae eater. I just detected ICK on both my silver dollars and both my balas. I am worried that my 2 favorite fish, my clown loaches, are next. I ran out and bought a bottle of "Quick Cure," which claims to kill ICK in two days. Should I have bought somethiing different? The instructions tell me to remove my charcoal filter from filtration system. Do I keep the filter out for the next few days or week? What are the chances for suvival and how long might this take? Should I vacuum the gravel every day to remove eggs? Thanks in advance for your advice!
