Doh!!!Almost A Dead Loach

Just went to the basement to feed nocturnal fishes.Also checked on new loaches.I quickly realized I was missing one of my new Striatas!I first checked in the tank,stirring around the gravel.No sign of loach.I then checked the floor in case a despondent would be suicidal loach could be found still alive.No corpse there.No way it could have gotten out.I have any holes in the top stuffed with floss.Hmmmmm.I spent the next few minutes looking around the tank and even under the linoleum!It took me a few more minutes until I looked at my filters.Air driven sponge filters.Yep,when I stopped the flow of air into the filter,there it was in the lift tube of the filter.After I removed it.It seems okay.It should be okay as it couldn't have been in there too long.I tried to put a piece of fish net over the end of the lift tube,but it seemed to restrict the flow of the water too much.Instead what I've settled on for now is to hook up a more
