Clown Loach help

I have a sailfin molly tank. Water temp 80
High PH and 1 tablespoon of salt for every 5 gals.
45 gal tank. Other inhabitants are 2 corys and an otto.
I was thinking of getting a couple of clown loaches to help keep the snail population under control.
What I need to know is will the tank parameters be OK for them. Some say that they can't tolerate salt and some say I don't have that much salt to bother them.
Also once they finish with the snails will they be OK eating the food that the rest of the tank eats. Its varied diet of Omega One flakes, frozen foods etc.
I will not purchase a fish unless I can properly care for it so thats why I am asking the experts first.
Thanks!!!
