# of Kuhlis in a 20 gallon

I have a 20 gallon that has a pair of Kuhlis, 3 female bettas, one paradise fish, 6 white clouds and one Siamese Algae Eater.

Right now, by the classic 1 inch rule I semi-use, the tank is fully, to slightly over, stocked when everyone grows up (all are fairly young fish).

However, there was an interesting thread over at Aquaria Central where several people felt that Kuhli loaches would only count for about 1/2 inch per gallon instead of the full 1 inch per gallon, which left me thinking --- Are they nuts?

However, if they are right, I might be able to add a few more Kuhlis which is when I decided I needed the expert advice of this board.

So...do Kuhli's factor in at the old standard of 1 inch per gallon or can I double my Kuhli happiness? I know 2 more Kuhlis would
