For anyone that cares to reply, I'm interested in a quick show of hands so to speak (write) of everyone's watts per gallon ratio in their loach tanks... after a bit of reading I've realised that I'm quite underpowered with one 30w tube over my 50g... they reckon 3-4watts per gallon is necessary. But I have to ask who 'they' are; I'd rather know what you guys have.
I know that I need more lighting, but I'm confused by systems other than fluorescent. What would be the most cost-effective way of achieving the desired ratio? Are there halogen (or whatever) kits that come complete, or is it more like separate component hi fi? Which of these kits is recommended (yes brand names)?(unless that's against the rules or something).
