Levamisole & pH

Something keeps bugging me about needing a low pH to use Levamisole Hydrochloride. This med is used to treat swine as well as sheep. Also found an article where it is being used for certain types of colon cancer, and aids.

Anyway, when this is used to treat swine it can be mixed in their drinking water. Sheep can be given it by injection, tablet, or drenching, which is mixing it with water and squirting it down their throat. We used to have sheep and used the pill form. This is not being used with a low pH water, not on purpose, anyways. Is there something about using it with fish that makes it different?

Just curious, especially since I have such high pH out of the tap.

Thanks,
Linda
