Butterfly Loach - Changes Colour!

Dear All

I was sold a chinese butterfly loach approx 2 weeks ago and unfortunately wasn't given any advice on it's care or conditions it prefers - If I had been then I would have quickly realised that it wouldn't be best suited in a 30 gallon Bio-orb.

Anyhow it's seems to be ok at the moment but it keeps changing colour, sometimes it's really dark and other times it goes really pale - almost off white. My concern is (after reading an article on this website concerning loaches and how to best keep them) that it may not be getting enough oxygen.

Can anyone out there throw any light on what may be causing the colour change, if my assumption is wrong, or what to do if I'm right?
