Wound or infection advice...

Today, I noticed that one of the pectoral fins on one of my prized Saddle back loaches appears to be infected. The fin itself is red, as is the area around its attachment point to the body. The fish appears to be acting okay, except for being slightly more "nervous" acting, and otherwise looks fine. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do? Should I medicate or just leave it alone and see what happens. Since I looked for these fish for over a year and have only seen them the one time, I'm very concerned about its health.
