Any Convict Cichlid Experts out there?

About a month ago I bought three small 1/2" long convicts hoping that I could get a breeding pair. I read that convicts are easy to breed. They live in a 30 gallon long. This will be my second attempt at breeding egglayers. I breed jewels many years ago, but I never had convicts before.

Okay, here the deal!

Convict #1 is 3/4" long. It has some light orange on the belly. (I'm assusing it's a female.)

Convict #2 is 1" long and it now has bright orange on it's belly. Today it started getting dark black stripes. (Female)

Convict #3 is now 2-1/4" long and it is dark black and really bulky. Last week it start growing long fins and
