Injured Weather Loach.

Now on to the question/story. I recently purchased 2 weather loaches, which looked to be healthy. 5 days later one of their face and mouth area looked a bit red, since apparently it either fell off or was eaten. What gets me is the fact I run a community tank and there's no way anything in there would've struck at the weather loach. I also have had read numerous times about the same thing happening to others. Now, is there a disease that's causing this, a piece of aquarium equipment (filter, etc), and futhermore, what can I do for the fish? 3 of it's "whiskers" are gone, alone with the upper portion of it's mouth, and left part of his fa
