In an article in the Swedish aquarium-publication SARF-aktuellt, Helmut Pinter writes about spontanius breeding of Botia sidthimunki. H. Pinter has a good reputation and is a well known aquarist in Sweden and I believe in Germany as well.
He keeps his sids in a aquarium with very dense vegetation together with some odessabarbs and Puntius oligolepis. The plants is anubias, cryptocoryne and some ceratophyllum sp. There is also some bogwood where he says the botias like to hide. The tank size is 140x40x40 cm.
Water quality is: Total hardness 6 dH, carbonate hardness 4,5 dH. Temp. 22-26, depending on season. PH somewhere between 7 and 8. Slightly airation but no filtration. The bottom is sand, with a layer of 1-
