Loaches and Large Fish

I have 3 loaches in a 30 gallon tank. No, the tank is not that large because of the loaches, it is for the 6 1/2 inch Placostamus they live with.

I got him when he was about 2 inches and he has...well...grown. The loaches adore him. He had his own hiding cave and they have theirs, but when they feel particularly frightened (as when my cats are batting at the side of the tank), they hide, around, under or next to him. He takes no notice of them, and though his mouth is big enough to eat the smallest loach whole, he has not done so, as was my concern when he got so big.

The whole gang comes out in the afternoon and early evening and swims about. I feed them all sinking Spirulina discs, but after finding this site I will try some live worms and other foods as well. I will also try the cucumber trick. The Loaches make a clicking sound when eating the discs, but only when more than one is
