Histrionica colors...

I have two histrionicas and had heard that as they get larger and older, the beautiful yellow turns more silver/gray. Well, the smaller of my two has done just that, but lately I've noticed it returning to its yellow color from time to time. Usually, this happens when its relaxing on the bottom. It becomes more silver/gray at feeding time when competing with the dario, leptobotia and the other histrionica. The other one, has retained its yellow even though it is now a full three inches long. Its quite a stunning fish, and never turns silver/gray. Has anyone else noticed the frequent color changes in their histrionicas?
