Today I ended 10 days of heat treatment for ich in my 80 gal tank. I was able to raise the temp in the tank to 90F. I was only able to achieve this temp after I covered the tank with a quilt. (Otherwise, it maxed out at about 86F). I was told years ago that ich can't live at higher temps. I always recommended 85F+ for this treatment, but there have been reports of mixed results from others who have tried this, so I went higher (as I did years ago with this treatment).

I used a version of this treatment some 14 years ago with additions (salt, etc.). This time around I did lose 3 fish: 2 Corys and one Columbian Tetra. The first Cory was a small juli that had some sort
