snail eating hillstreams

Martin's hillstream collection are living in a 30 gallon planted tank right now with a couple of powerheads added for lots of current. I keep finding dozens of dead snail shells sucked onto the intake of one of these powerheads. The snail population in this tank is noticeably decreasing as well and I doubt very much that the current is killing them off.
We're not sure which fish is responsible for what is happening. Based on 'nose shape' we speculate that it's the Homoloptera zollingeri. Also given how many empty snailshells are littering the bottom of the tank it would seem that there is more than one fish doing this. There are three zollingeri but only one orthogoniata.
Of course it's possible that the Gastromyzons may be eating snails, but their shape doesn't lend itself re
