Snails and disease

If you all remember I have a two month old tank and had a problem with gill flukes and then ick.

I had just put a large Apple Snail in there. I didn't know that snails would carry anything that could hurt a fish. I figured different species, wouldn't spread disease from one to another and I never even thought of flukes. Could the fish have gotten flukes from the snail?

Anyway, when I treated the tank I moved the snail to another tank and have a tank now just with my Apple Snails and a large Pleco and some small black pond snails that came in with some plants.

I have been harvesting the small black snails from this tank and another and feeding them to my loaches. I figure that since they are mostly home grown now and fed well they would be a good food for my clowns and striata.

Anyway, do snails need to be quarantined? Would that do a
