Sick Weather Loaches?

I have two weather loaches (Unknown age - I have had them about a year) One started to get a bulge in the third end of its body around the top fin, and over time this is getting larger and larger, around and lengthwise.

Now my other weather loach is getting a bulge also, but behind the top fin near the end of her body. Her skin appears to be cracking - you can see what appear to be fissures.

Neither are eating as well as they were.

Could this be a parasite thing? Should I be trying to find and treat them with levamisole hydrochloride, or could it be something else. These are my favorite fish and I would like to try to save them if possible, even though they are relatively inexpensiv
