needed--advice on blue botia

I just got an 10gal aquarium for X-mas. I originally just wanted a school of neons. While at the pet shop, I saw (and bought) a blue botia. I also purchased 2 neons and a cory cat. But my fish got ick, and the neons and cory died before I caught it and was able to treat it. Now I only have the botia and have treated it for ick. Soon, I will be heading back to the pet shop for replacement fish. I'm wondering, however, if I should get another blue botia for a companion to the other or if clown loaches would be compatible? My botia is very shy and hides all the time...I so rarely see him and wish to encourage more social behavior from him. Also, he is approximately 4in. and if I go wit
