Hillstream Loaches (Burlington, Ontario, Canada)

I was in a fish store last night and they had two species of hillstreams. The closest I could find in the book they had was beaufortia leveretti and balitora burmania.

I may get some b. leveretti but I would like some additional information first. What water conditions do they like? How many should I get for a 25 gallon with platys? Are they compatible with most fish? Any additional information I may need.
