modesta vs pulchiprinnis

I was translating (as best I can) information from a 7-book fish almanac in German..
Strangely, although it is reputedly one of the most accurate and complete fish resources known, it didn't include information about the botia modesta. The owner of the shop I work in (who has been doing this for 30 years and usually knows everything about everything) suggested that they may not be botia modesta anymore, but rather botia pulchiprinnis. Now, I thought that botia modesta, lecontei, and pulchiprinnis were separate species. I would hate to assume the book was wrong (or rather incomplete) because it was recently updated and is considered the authority in these matters.. Does anyone have any ideas why botia modesta isn't included?

Thanks,
Sarah
