Why Qtanks are important...a hard learned lesson..

I just had several sudden, mysterious deaths in my river tank. I had a really cool sinogastromyzon sp. that I picked up about a week ago that died suddenly. I found another like it and it died suddenly as did its replacement(it was guarenteed). This morning when I discovered the last one dead, I also found my beautiful orange and black mystery homaloptera dead. I guess one of these sinos brought something into the tank and it killed the other fish. I can imagine that the new fish were stressed and therefore suseptable to disease, but the homaloptera was doing very well. Now, because of my carelessness, I will be on edge, hoping none of my other fish dies. I have some great specimens in that tank, some huge beaufortias, my little puntalatus, and my breeding hillstreams to name a few. So far, everyone else seems fine, even had some spawning today. But only time will tell. This is certainly a hard learned lesson about why a Qtank is necessary.
