How is he acting? Clowns have to get rather large to breed, and breeding in captivity is almost unknown. Sex differentiation is, I think, almost impossible. However, strange behavior is the norm. Seriously, if you think he might be sick, what is are the symptoms? What did you do to raise the hardness? What other water parameters changed and how??
