new clown loaches & ich

On two occasions, I've tried adding some small clown loaches to my well-cycled, heavily-planted 30 gallon tank. Very low bioload- only 8 zebra danios in the tank. Water parameters check out fine. Added clown loaches in groups of 3-5. The loaches got ich (big surprise,) and I treated them for about 2 weeks until there was no sign of it. They'd seem fine for a few days, then one would die. The others soon follow. I tried a varitey of food- frozen bloodworms, frozen glassworms, freezedried tubifex, tetramin tabs, shrimp pellets... I really don't know what went wrong. Any help would be very much appreciated.
