black spots on golden dojo, PLEASE HELP!!!! WORRIE

I have one, he's about a year old (to my tank, that is). He's fatter than a mcdonald's straw, lol and about 4+ inches long. Fat little bugger. BUT - he/she got a black spot about 3 months ago 3/4 back from head to tail. I just thought it was a marking I had not noticed before. But I have been desperately searching for something on them because it grew. Now it looks like someone "scuffed" him with a black shoe. The size of the spot is about 1.5centimeter in length and approx. the same in height. It's roughly square in shape, though slanted more like a diamond lying on a flat side. Does that make sense? Now he has another small black spot and it's growing too. Under his beautiful orange skin, he has very light, very hard to see, green areas. I'm afraid they too will turn into these black spots. Any idea? I've only read about white spots that are either ich or fungus, never black or green.
I'm desperate because most importantly, I dont' want to lose him, he's one of my favorites, and secondly, he's in a community tank. I need some advice from ANYONE who has an idea. I am putting my AIM and MSNMessenger names here.
Thanks
