Algae problem, diy co2, killing me

Okay I have a algae problem, red algae, everywhere, on everything, well I heard if you add co2 that your plants will overdo the algae and it will go away, I have had my co2 running for two days and now algae is everywhere, the front of my tank is a blur cause it is all over the glass. What can I do to get rid of it and will it eventually go away, just a boost in co2 so it is growing, so when plants catch up it will be gone?
