water temperature

Hello- I am so happy to have found this forum! There is not much on the net about loaches.

I have 3 Black Kuhli Loaches about 6 years old or so and I was wondering if it is ok to keep them in a cold water tank? I have read differing opinions on this subject.

They seem to be doing fine as they've been in one for about 2 1/2 months but I want to make absolutely sure that's ok. They are living with my newt and have gotten along great for years.

They used to be in a different tank that was about 75 degrees or so but I recently read that newts do well in cold water (60's) so I am trying it. I will move them out if I need to.
