...gave me advice on the H. smithi. I have several of them getting settled into my new R/T now. They do act like a different breed of fish in their new home. Some of them took right to pouncing on the bloodworms that crossed their line of sight, where I had never seen them eat while in the community tank.
Just to be sure that they were all getting something to eat...I tried the targeted feeding technique today. I used one of the Tetra Multi-Purpose Syringes and a length of airline tubing to deliver thawed bloodworms right under their individual noses. It worked very well, they all liked their breakfast-in-bed.
A couple of days ago, I gave them some live daphnia and some of the smithi snatched some up. The only trouble with the daphnia was that most of them got eaten by the WC minnows before the loaches got a chance to get them.
So far, so good...I'll post more on my R/T progress in the future.
