Aggresive Pakistani?

I have a pair of Pakistani loaches. Twice this week I have introduced a rubber pleco into the tank, only to find it dead the next day. There were no signs of any trama to the dead fish. I did notice the larger of the Pakistani's giving the pleco a nudge whenever they passed by each other. It wasn't hunting it down, though.

Could the Pakistani have been the reasons for the plecos' demise? I have a bronze cory that has had no problems, as well as pearl gouramis, guppies, a glass tetra, and a couple of palatys.

I thought plecos were pretty bullet-proof due to their body armor?
