I'm sorry for all your losses, but it sounds like you got your tank a few days ago, filled it with water, and dumped the fish right in. There's all sorts of stuff happening in that tank right now; the nitrifying bacteria are trying to establish themselves, but there's too much ammonia build-up from the decaying wastes and uneaten food. This is a common occurance among novice fish-keepers, and the best way to combat it is to read about it, and prevent it from happening in the future.
