How to treat what looks like worms in a pH over 7.

One of my striatas has yet to get chubby like the other 2. It eats a lot, hand feeds, but stays very skinny, also looks kind og bumpy, but that is probably his markings. I also believe this is the fish who jumped out the night I bought them. It is definitely eating, and this weekend I want to try to help it.

I don't care if I knock out the bacteria in the tank, as he is getting moved to a 10 gallon isolation anyway, and I can always recycle it. None of the other fish in the tank exhibit any problems, though I do lose a tiger barb every once in a while.
