DEATH OF THREE CLOWN LOACHES

This is not the kind of message I like to post. Sadly, in a 24 hour period I lost three clown loaches in a 55 gallon tank that had one small oscar and a pleco. The PH is constant at 7.0, and the temp is steady at 78. No ammonia, no nitrites or nitrates, and no ich. They were 4" and in excellent condition when placed in the tank. The tropical fish store quarantined them before my purchase. Their tanks are the same as mine, PH 7.0, Temp 7.8. I only had them for five days. They were very active, but didn't eat anything. They had a cave to retire to, but never used it. I'm not sure clowns are for me. Has anybody had the same experience.
