Filter Questions for Large setup

I have been thinking about ways of filtering the new 135 Gallon tank and I think I need some advice. I've been taking care of fish for over 20 years but I have never had a tank this large before.

Space is going to be limited behind the tank so I can't use hang-on filters of any type. This limits my filtration to canister filters and/or sump.

After looking at the sump idea I realized that it was a bit of overkill, and that I might make better use of the tank.

I have 3 Dojo Loaches that I love, but are stressing out my other fish. Their active behavior combined with their NASTY attitude towards some of their tank mates is geting to be too much.
