Water From LFS.

I tested the water from a bag of fish that I purchased from my LFS. I'm unsure how much the water would change from the store to my home, but here are the results: Ammonia 0, pH 6.8, NitrAtes 100 mg/l+. Yeesh!

I wondered why the vast majority of the fish that I've purchased from this store get sick in my tanks. A simple 15-20 min float and then one open of the bag for a dip of water, and more time to float, is not enough. My water here is 7.8.

I just purchased 8 more glass cats to replace the ones that died a short while ago. This acclimation may take a while. :-)

I once tested water from a store that nearly made my eyes pop out. The nitrAtes must have been WAY off the chart. The tested water turned into milky *clumps* of orange. I've never seen anything like it! LOL!
