Considering a 50-60g ...

Just made space in my house for a 50-60gallon tank. Well, at least a tank about 4 feet in length. I'd originally thought about putting a synodontis in it, but then realized ....

I could have *clowns*. Clowns! I've always wanted them. So I'm asking now, before I get my heart set on them.

1. How many clowns can I keep in a tank that size for a long length of time? (I live in San Diego where the housing market has gone berserk. I don't expect to be moving for at least 5 years.)

2. I've never had a tank that large. What sorts of filters and other pieces-parts should I be looking into? I'm not happy with the filter (Whisper) that I have on my 29g, and am intending on changing it at some p
