Q on freeze-dried food and loaches

Hi! I went out fish-food shopping (always dangerous!) and along with some bring shrimp and spirulina sinking pellets I decided to experiment and bought some freeze-dried whole baby shrimp for my clowns and modestas.

Well much to my suprise the little things seem to be for top feeders only! They won't sink no matter what, I experimented and put some in a cup of water and an hour later the darn things are still floating! Maybe we should build life rafts out of these I couldn't get them to soak up water no matter what!

So unless someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong I'm going to save these for some of my other top-feeders (like the discus I'm fishsitting) and find something else loachy for a treat. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them!!
